Stocks close higher in Argentina, lower in Mexico, Brazil — Dec. 21

MEXICO CITY, Dec. 21 (Xinhua) — Latin America’s three major stock markets closed mixed on Monday.

Mexico City’s IPC stock index dropped 0.11 percent to 31,799.23 points. A total of 212 million shares were traded with a volume of about 495 million U.S. dollars.

At the Buenos Aires stock market, the Merval index closed at 2,216.40 points, up 0.04 percent. The trade volume was 12.452 million dollars.

In Sao Paulo, Latin America’s biggest bourse, the leading Bovespa index closed at 65,925 points, down 1.30 percent. The trade volume was 5.490 billion dollars.
