BAGHDAD — Iranian troops withdrew from the disputed oil well on the border between Iraq and Iran, a senior official in Maysan province said on Sunday.
“The Iranian troops have withdrawn late overnight from the oil well No. 4 of the Fakkah oilfield and have lowered their flag, while the Iraqi troops returned to the well and raised the Iraqi flag,” Maytham Lafta, head of the defense and security committee of Maysan provincial council said.

BEIRUT — Hezbollah Secretary General Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah said on Saturday that Lebanese Prime Minister Saad Hariri’s visit to Syria is a positive step that promotes a calm and relaxing climate in Lebanon, the Shiite armed group’s Al-Manar TV reported on Sunday.
However, Nasrallah said that despite this, some (political) actors are still being bribed to continue criticizing the Resistance, referring to Hezbollah, and its weapons.

RAMALLAH/GAZA — Hamas and Fatah, the rival Palestinian factions, on Sunday traded accusations over arresting followers in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank.
Hamas forces, controlling Gaza since 2007, detained 24 members and supporters of President Mahmoud Abbas’s Fatah party over the past couple of days in northern Gaza Strip, Fatah said in a statement.

RAMALLAH — Palestinian officials on Sunday accused Israel of harvesting organs from Palestinians killed by the Israeli army years ago.
Fathi Abu Mughli, the health minister, said that Israeli doctors “have taken parts from dead bodies, including corneas, bones and skin without having permission from the Palestinian families.”

TEHRAN — A senior aide to Iran’s President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said Sunday that Tehran has access to the technical know-how required for enriching uranium to a purity level of 20 percent, the semi-official Fars news agency reported.
Iran has no problem in the production of high grade nuclear fuel for the Tehran research reactor, Mojtaba Hashemi-Samareh said in Tehran.

CAIRO — Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak met with Iran’s Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani on Sunday and discussed bilateral relations and issues of common interest.
Larijani told reporters after the meeting that he held ” constructive” talks with Mubarak on issues concerning relations between Egypt and Iran as well as regional and international issues and considered the meeting as “positive and very good.”
